I’m a native New Englander who spent 40+ years in Western MA before moving to Southern California. Think Norman Rockwell vs. Orange County and you’ll have an inkling into the culture shock I’ve experienced. It has been an incredible adventure and has opened my eyes to everything – suddenly everyday life, though often ordinary, is also very interesting. Hence the name of this blog, Ordinary But Interesting.
I’m an artist, writer, photographer, craft designer (and avid participant in all crafts), gardener, cook, reader, musician, aunt, sister, daughter, cousin, friend and Mom to 2 felines. As for the rest of me? Well I’m going to let my posts fill in all the blanks. By reading them you’ll see that I have a unique view of many things in life – I think that’s my creative soul in action. I always try to take the approach that there are silver linings in everything, no matter how terrible things are.
My posts are going to vary widely, both on content and subject matter. Everywhere I go my digital camera goes so there will be posts that are full of pictures, posts that are full of words and posts that are a combination of both. I watch a lot of news and surf CNN.com and MSNBC.com all the time so I may prattle on about something newsy. Then again, I’m an observant person so there will be times when I go on and on about something I’ve seen. And if those two topics don’t give my fingers enough reason to fly across the keyboard then the way I live my life and my approach to daily tasks will!
My advice? Drop in and read often – and let me know your thoughts!
I just red 6 blogs you’ve written, did I miss any? Have to tell you, I even postponed getting a cigarette so I could finish them……….hmmm, I am not the least bit interested, you are just a great writer. No, I am interested in what you have to say because you say it so wonderfully. There are tears, excitement, joy, laughter and many, many giggles.
I have felt bad about Ted Kennedy’s passing, but reading yours and Tam Sicard’s (think that is right) blogs/posts are the only times I actually cried.
I enjoy your blog.
Do you mind if I get cozy and stay?
Drop in as often as you’d like – you never know what you’re going to find here!
Hey Cus! This was the first time I visited your blog! Too Cool! On your next visit to the frozen North we need to get together so you can show me how to start one. I sure would have had an interesting one this last year! Stay safe Love Ya!
Glad you liked it Paul!!!! No problem on setting you up with a blog either when I go east or you come west
Hello,
I just stumbled upon your blog while searching for a place to purchase pea gravel. Your writings are so descriptive and entertaining. And your back yard is done beautifully. I am looking forward to seeing how the front yard turns out…I’m sure you will get your HOA to sign off on your plans, how could they not!!!!
I do have a question for you, where did you purchase your pea gravel from? I am in San Juan Capistrano and having a hard time locating a company that will deliver.
I look forward to reading more about your California adventures and your landscaping projects.
Be well,
Lisa
Hi Lisa – Thanks for stopping by! I’m glad you enjoyed your reads! I’m keeping my fingers crossed as well on the approval! Here’s hoping I know by early September…
I purchased my pea gravel at Southern California Mulch in Menifee. If they deliver to SJC it’ll probably be expensive as they’re right on the 215. You may want to call Tree of Life Nursery in SJC and ask if they know any places that delivery. That’s the nursery where I’ve been taking all my workshops and they have been extremely helpful with any and all questions I’ve had.
Words no one will ever write to me: “I stumbled across this blog while searching for pea gravel.”
But no telling what searches might lead to mine!
LOL Sara!
One thing I love to do is check my blog stats to see what searches are bringing people to my blog. The most common? Pajama Fetish! I did a post called Pajama Fetish on 11/16/09 after finding great jammies at Kohl’s. Since the post went up those words, in all forms of spelling, are used for searches at least 3-4 times a week, and sometimes multiple times a day!
Who’da thunk?
BTW – I don’t search to get to your blog – I pop in every couple days because I enjoy it. And how did I find your blog? Via Miss Quinn’s…
Enjoy the New England autumn for me please – I’ll be there in spirit!
I enjoy your tweets always brightens my day, and your pictures are beautiful makes me wish I lived in sunny so cali. =)
