Pajama Fetish

I’ve had a sock fetish, one where I had to cover my tootsies with socks that were the same color as the top I was wearing.  It didn’t matter if I was wearing long pants or shorts, they had to match.

I moved on to a sunglass fetish.  Same concept as the sock fetish but twice as bad because not only did the sunglass frame have to match my top, but the leash that kept them around my neck also had to match!

There have been a few other less-than-blogworthy fetishes along the way, but now I’m in the midst of a pajama fetish that is all my friend/assistant’s fault!  Yep, I had nothing to do with this fetish except be the victim.  I will admit that I didn’t put up much of a fight, maybe even welcomed it, and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

It all started last year when friend/assistant told me that shortly after she gets home from work she puts her jammies on!  And sometimes on weekends, she takes a shower and hops into a fresh pair of jammies!  WOW, a married mother of 2 children in their 20′s has just told me it’s okay to hang out in one’s jammies, even when the sun is still shining!!  KEWL!!

If that weren’t enough, she then raved about a pair of winter jammies she purchased at Kohls.  I paid a visit to said store and purchased not one, but two pair because they were just that decadent!

So began my downward spiral into the world of a pajama fetish.

Last Wednesday after work I stopped at Kohls to refresh my winter wardrobe.  I bought 2 long sleeve tops, a Christmas present for my sister, 6 pair of sox and…yep…a new pair of winter jammies!!!!  These are just as decadent as the two pair I bought last year but they’re a bit more lightweight so absolutely perfect for right now.  They’re a fleecey set by Axcess (a Liz Claiborne company) with a pullover long sleeve top and drawstring bottoms, and they come in funky bright colors.

I bought the brightest pair – a lime green top with multi-colored striped bottoms (lime green, grass green, black, blue, pink, purple and white).  I couldn’t wait to slip into the newest member of my jammies collection so as soon as I got home that’s exactly what I did, overriding Scarpetto’s instance that he get fed before I do anything.

OOOOoooohhhh…they were so soft and warm and cuddly that I knew instantly I screwed up in a major way by only purchasing one pair!!!  Thursday night I went back and purchased three more pair!!!

Look at all my jammies (and no, I don’t normally hang them off my curtain rod, heck I don’t even hang them, it’s just the best way I could think of for playing show-and-tell)!!!

winter jammies

The pair on the far left are t-shirty type material and are best worn in the warmest of the colder months.  The blue pair are flannel and are my “public jammies” – those I wear for sleepovers or hotel stays as they don’t cling to any of the wrong places so I don’t have to worry about covering up.  The next two pair are the decadant purchases from last year.  The last four pair, the ones with the wild bottoms, are my new jammies!  Not only do I have four new pair to wear whenever I want, but if you look closely you’ll see that I can mix and match the tops!!

Geez…putting on my jammies is going to be as complicated as getting dressed for work — which bottoms shall I wear and which top will join the bottoms?

Now for the best news, besides the knowledge that this year my friend/assistant followed my lead and purchased jammies!  I bought the four pair using a 15% off Kohls card that I received in the mail last week.  It’s good for eight days (hence why I used it twice already), the last day being the 18th.  When I bought the last three pair of jammies I spent more than $50 so I got $10 in Kohls cash that can be spent starting today, the 16th.

Guess what I’m going to do on my way home tonight!  Go head, guess…I’ll wait…

…(humming)…

…(whistling)…

…(drumming fingers)…

OK, I’m done waiting.

I’m going to stop at Kohls and buy ANOTHER pair!!!  They’re $23.99 less 15% less the $10 so I’ll be spending +/- $10 for the fifth pair!  I think I might get the red ones this time ‘cuz you all know how I feel about that color.  :-)

Seriously, if anyone is looking for an awesome pair of jammies you now know what to get and where to get them!  C’mon, join the fetish!!

I love jammies. Unfortunately, most of the pants are not long enough for my legs. (Yes, I refuse to wear too-short pants, even if they are pajamas.) I end up wearing sweats and t-shirts or sweatshirts instead.

Hhhmm….my pants are a goo 2″ too long but I’m long waisted and short legged…

It’s too bad that jammies don’t work for you – these are AWESOME!!!!

And I thought I was bad cuz I had to match my socks & tops, and my bras and undies……ha, you got me beat!

Lol, my problem exactly Judy! I can’t buy a dress with a waist, it ends up sitting on my rib cage, that makes it so uncomfortable.
